Ctc Travel designs the 7 days Bhutan Tour takes the visitors to the realm of multiple exposures, adventures and a sigh of relief as if the person has reached to the seventh heaven on earth. We also initiate to provide visitors the real taste of the existing daily lives of the Bhutanese in a close shot.

DAY 1: Singapore - Paro - Thimphu

  • Early morning flight into Paro (via Kolkada). Met by our representative and then drive to Thimphu - the only capital in the world without any traffic lights,.
  • Memorial Chorten, The Chorten is also a center of worship for the people living in Thimphu.
  • General Postal Office Bhutan, an old Post Office Building where you can make your own stamps with your own photos right on the spot!
  • Archery Stadium, have a chance to watch field archery competition (if any). If weekends and time permits, you will visit weekend market before dinner. Overnight at Thimphu

DAY 2: Thimphu

  • Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), it is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue constructed in the mountains of Bhutan. The statue houses over one hundred thousand smaller Buddha statues. You can get a good overview of the Thimphu valley from the Buddha point, the largest statue of Buddha in the country also sits there.
  • Motithang Mini Zoo where you can see the National animal Takin research centre where these odd animals graze peacefully in a small protected park.
  • Tashichhoe Dzong, the fortress of the glorious religion’s houses the throne room of His Majesty, the King, the main secretariat building and the central Monk body.
  • The National School of Traditional Arts(it will be close during Bhutan school holiday period), where young monks learn the art of Buddhist thangkha painting; Overnight in Thimphu.

DAY 3: Thimphu - Punakha

  • Morning drive to Punakha at about 3 hours, crossing the Dochula pass - This Pass offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges.
  • The beauty of this place is further enhanced by the Druk Wangyal Chortens - with 108 stupas built by the Queen. In clear weather, you can see the Himalaya Ranges with all snow covered.
  • A short hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple). A gentle walk thru beautiful farm houses and vast plains of rice fields. The monastery is dedicated to the Divine Madman who is popularly known as Drukpa Kinley. The temple is regarded as a sanctum of fertility and most childless couples usually makea visit to this temple to seek the fertility blessings.
  • Punakha Dzong, a massive structure built at the junction of two rivers. It is arguably the most beautiful dzong in the country. Overnight in Punakha tonight.

DAY 4: Punakha - Gangtey

  • Drive to Gantey Valley via Wangdue – which is the winter home of the endangered Black Necked Cranes that migrate to this valley from Tibet in winter. Gangtey is situated in Phobjeykha Valley at 3,000m above sea-level is a wide almost flat beautiful alpine valley.
  • Gangtey Goemba or Monastery, one of the oldest and largest Nyingma Buddhist centre in Bhutan.

DAY 5: Gangtey - Wangdue Phodrang - Thimphu - Paro

  • Rinpung Dzong, the most famous monastery of Bhutan and maybe the best representative of Bhutan architecture.
  • Ta Dzong, inaugurated as National Museum in 1968, and holding a fascinating collection of art, relics, religious thangkha paintings, Bhutan's exquisite postage stamps, coins and handicrafts, together with a small natural history collection.
  • Drukgyel Dzong, which was once a historic monument built as a symbol of victory for the Bhutanese against the northern invaders. Now it stands in ruins. In 1914 issue of National Geographic magazine Drukgyel Dzong was shown in its glory.

DAY 6: Paro

  • In the morning drive beyond Satsam Chorten to hike up to the Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), one of today’s sacred pilgrimage site where Guru Padmasambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche) landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century. The hike up the monastery takes up to 3-4 hours. The monastery is perched on the side of the cliff at the height of 900 meters above the Paro Valley.
  • Kyichu Lhakhang, built in 7th century, is one of the two oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan.

DAY 7: Paro - Singapore

  • After breakfast, free till transfer to Airport for your flight to Singapore, we hope you have enjoyed this wonderful trip with CTC Travel !
